If you know when you conceived you should always go by your date. Ultrasounds, especially later in pregnancy, are not as accurate. Here are the dates that they can be off.
The inaccuracy of ultrasound
First trimester: 7 days
14 - 20 weeks: 10 days
21 - 30 weeks: 14 days
31 - 42 weeks: 21 days
You should not perform a hysterosonogram if you are pregnant. Perhaps a transvaginal ultrasound.
You have two due dates...one accourding to your last period and one accourding to the size of the child on the ultrasound...i think the ultrasound one is more accurate
if you are 23 weeks pregnant , then go back 4 weeks later you should be 27 weeks pregnant. Almost 7 months.
Roughly Wednesday February 13th 2008
Babies born in April are conceived between late July and mid August.
An ultrasound at 6 weeks should show a fetal heartbeat, if there was a fetal heartbeat you're not miscarrying.. It's probable you estimated your due date wrong.
If you are going to take an ultrasound because you are pregnant, then the answer is no. It usually depends on what type of ultrasound. Some of them, you can't even drink. But preferably, no, don't drink alcohol before an ultrasound.
You shouldn't be big at all. At five weeks pregnant you have just developed an embryo. An ultrasound typically will not even be able to detect a heartbeat yet.
You should not be pregnant when you start taking the pills as you start taking them within a week of the start of your period and if you have a period you are 99.5% sure you are not pregnant. However if you are pregnant the pills will have no effect.
When you have a dating ultrasound you are given an EDD (estimated date of delivery) If you count back 40 weeks from this date it should be about when your last period was. If you do not have a regular cycle they may not correlate exactly. 38weeks back from your EDD is approximately when you conceived.
Usually a doctor wants to see you for the first ultrasound when you're appr. 10-13 weeks pregnant.
You should probably see a doctor and get an ultrasound since birth control can have harmful effects on the fetus.
