I had the same one and I found out that it is worth next to nothing. No pawn or gun shop will touch them, the 22 short revolver from"Germany" is nothing more than a toy gun that will fire real 22 short rounds. That is of course if you can make the bullets fit inside the cylinder. I had to use a wire bore brush on the cylinder for quite a while before I could force the rounds into it. Not that there was a lot of dirt and carbon, but more like the gun was bored out wrong. Even after firing several rounds through the gun, the cylinder was not right, and I had to pound the shells out after the ejector broke off. I figured this could maybe be a possibly hazardous gun to attempt to fire, so I looked the other way when I pulled the trigger, you know, safety first.... It ended up in the dumpster, after an aggravating afternoon of high risk, low power, missing targets five feet away, getting hit by ricochet's without penetrating skin, entertainment. I recommend either throwing it out, turning it into one of those "$100 guns off the street drives, or sell it for $50 to a dummy, at least they will only hurt themselves.

What is a colt cowboy ranger revolver?

There is no such thing. The Cowboy Ranger revolver is not made by Colt. The reason it has Colt stamped on the barrel is because you can use Colt ammunition. The Cowboy Ranger revolver is a pre WW1 revolver that was distributed in the US but also brought over from the soldiers as they returned from the war. If you can find any information on the manufacturing date and how to identify it please let me know
