Liberty was used by several makers. The more common ones that look a bit like the Colt Peacemaker were imported by Liberty Arms, but made by Herbert Schmidt in West Germany in the 1960s. There is a a much older Liberty made by (IIRC) Norwalk, unfluted cylinder, spur trigger, no loading gate, no trigger guard, usually nickel plated- THOSE date from the 1880s or so.

Depends on who you talk to. Colt, Freedom Arms, Uberti, USFA, all make quality products.
@ turn of the century, inexpensive.
American Arms out of North Kansas City MO imported single-action revolvers made by Uberti in Italy. Basically the same revolver as the old Iver Johnson Cattleman and the current Uberti Cattleman. Value is going to be around $300 in VG condition. sales@countrygunsmith.net
The Iver Johnson Model 50 Sidewinder is a double action revolver designed to look like a classic single action. The action (trigger/hammer) looks and operates exactly like any other double action revolver. However, IJ (as did a couple of other manufacturers from the 50's through the 70's) dressed the basic double action frame and lockwork with features more closely related to single actions like the Colt 1873. Single action features include: faux stag grip shape and aesthetics, pinned (non-swing-out) cylinder, loading gate and integral ejector rod. Although the revolver can be fired in either mode, reloading the pistol follows the manual of arms for the single action genre (eject empties individually through the loading gate or completely remove the cylinder from the frame).
