Have large reference collection. Send photo and serial number of undated Sauer guns and I can tell you the production date. At least some of these single action revolvers were made for the Hawes Firearms Co. of Van Nuys Ca. and they were so stamped. Mine (still in its original box) has a 5 digit s/n in the format xxxx/x and dates from the mid 1960's. No way I can believe that 31 million of them were made.
