Since there are multitude of single shot shotguns still available on the market, it would help to have the serial number, model number etc. to preform an acurate search. They are still making them.

It is true about the serial numbers, that way you can get down to the exact date. But if you are talking about the model 37, it was manufactured between 1936 and 1963 http://www.auctionarms.com/closed/printitem.cfm?itemnum=8160315
