Who made it? What caliber? What kind of action (bolt, pump, semi-auto, over/under)? Serial numbrer?
Sorry, but cannot find a Model 3031 in any of my references. Can you check and be SURE that is a Sears model number?
A JC Higgins .22 caliber rifle, model 103.229 is about 55 years old as of 2014.
gunpartscorp.com You can also search for Marlin model 80 parts seeing as how the J.C. Higgins is a clone of the model 80 and Marlin is easier to get parts for. I got a model 80 elevation key for the rear sight from the sight and looked and fit exactly the same as the old one I lost off my J.C.
will the 7 shot magazine you sell for the old marlin model 80 fit my j c Higgins model 103.228
JC Higgins was a brand name used by Sears. Your rifle is a Marlin Model 80 which started production in 1960. Sears dropped the JC Higgins brand in 1962, and replaced it with Ted Williams. So your rifle was made sometime between 1960 and 1962. Nice rifles, by the way.
I received a model 41 for Christmas in 1959. I believe my Dad payed $12 for it from our local Sears store. I still have it today. Still shoots accurately. This Christmas (2009) it will be 50 years old!
