You have to have started having ovulating. That means your body is releasing eggs. If you don't get pregnant after ovulating, you menstruate (bleed for half a week or so out of a month). The ovulation is the important part, and that is one reason why you don't want to have sex before you menstruate, because you might start ovulation and not know it, and get pregnant without ever having menstruated.

Then you need to have sperm introduced into your vagina, typically through sexual intercourse.

There is no magical age to become pregnant, it all depends on when you go through puberty and start to menstruate - this can vary significantly from one girl to the next. Sometimes it can be as young as 9 or 10 years old while others may not go through puberty until they are 14 or 15 years old.

In our present culture, a child of 10 is not physically or emotionally ready to be mother despite the fact she is already having a period. Data shows that young women who become mothers in their teens often do not finish school, but become single parents, and live in poverty. A 10 year old would have a hard time meeting the needs required to be a parent. Not only would she lack life experience, education, and may also have experienced sexual abuse since the father would be much older.

She would need counseling and on the physical side her body is not ready to carry a baby full term. The idea of a child having a child is not good.

Menstrual cycle is not a measure of when one can become pregnant, it is simply the first time the body has had a need to clear itself of left over eggs and mucus. Prior to this happening the body had to produce eggs for there to be any to expel.

Also the body may not eject these eggs if there is not enough fluid present to require menstruation, meaning not only are eggs present that can be fertilized prior to menstruation but cycles can occur without visible warning if the discharge is minimal or reabsorbed by the body (which can occur in preteens)

Culturally the measure of when a woman "should" be able to get pregnant has always been based on menstrual cycle. Physically however, the menstrual cycle is a sign that the body could have become pregnant sooner and is only now beginning to require regular internal purges of left over unused material.

The youngest case on record of pregnancy was at 5 years old. Typical menstruation cycles of the body do not begin until puberty (which can start anywhere from 9 to 16, with most falling in the 12-14 year old range)

However, no pregnancy under the age of 18 is considered safe, the body does not reach near full maturity until around 18 (the brain does not actually fully mature until 25+ or later in some cases)

You can't just "get pregnant" you have to have sex which you shouldn't do until you're married.

A girl can get pregnant as early as 9 or 10 but usually they won't start having their period until 12 or 13, sometimes 14 years old.

a girl can get pregnate whenever she starts her period
