An e-cigarette cartilage (one electric cigarette) can be filled with a solution containing different amounts of nicotine. On average, one contains about 3.6mg of nicotine. For an adult, who is a non-smoker, about 60mg would be fatal. So about 17 electric cigarettes, smoked in short succession could kill someone. However due to a number of factors (such as the absorption of the nicotine, the person's tolerance, and the density of the nicotine solution) it would probably take more to deliver a fatal dose.
Nicotine is a stimulant - it acts upon the nervous system of bugs causing them to be unable to breath and they suffocate. The same is true for humans - if you take in enough nicotine it becomes more difficult to breath - the nicotine contained in smoke is a lower dosage than if you ate the cigarette. DO NOT eat cigarettes or any other tobacco products - they can kill you as easily as they kill bugs.

nicotine is an addictive stimulant. It makes you think that you need it to feel good, therefore if you have nicotine in your system, and it keeps making you want more, and you take in more, then you will always have the nicotine in your system. However, if you stop using the nicotine product it depends on how much of it you consumed, before you stopped.
Guilt can not just kill a person, gilt could make a person take their own lives.

Caffeine and nicotine both belong to stimulant group of drugs. Both drugs are effective in terms of increasing body functions. Nicotine is found in cigarettes while caffeine is present in coffee and tea.
Any drug can kill you if you take too much.
of course nicotine is the bad part of smoking...
really it shouldnt take too long for it to leave, probably at most a week but your life span will still be shortened by a fair amount! +++ Given that most people take nicotine by smoking, the carcinogenic tar may be the greater threat.
