Well men seem to cheat with no reason or motive. In just a random moment of unfaithfulness. sometimes the random moment continues on to being an affair sometimes its just a one time thing.

Whereas women usually have reasons, most women think in reasoning ways. And often women will feel guilty for what they have done, if not the cheating will usually continue.

Well that's what Ive been told/believe it does seem to change due to circumstances sometimes

It is important to recognize that there are two different forms of infidelity - emotional infidelity and physical infidelity. Most women place a greater value on emotional faithfullness of her partner, and men tend to place a greater value on the physical faithfulness of his partner.

While both tend to cheat due to feelings of unfullfilment in the relationship, womens' feelings of unfullfillment tend to come from a sense of being neglected, taken for granted, not appreciated, or feeling undesirable to her partner. These feelings can often be resolved through an external romantic relationship which does not become overtly physical. Because of the way most men would define 'cheating', the majority of womens' infidelity would not be recognized as 'cheating' by men.

Studies have shown, however, that between men and women, the rate of infidelity (when considering emotional and physical cheating as equal) is about the same.
