A man is only able to kill a bear if he has a sharp hunting knife with him, or if he is able to shoot the bear from a distance. Even so, a bear is a force to be reckoned with, no matter what tools a man has in his defense.Definitely. A man can kill a bear with a gun if he is shooting from a far away distance, or if he has a sharp enough knife and can dodge the bear's attacks.
I'm not quite sure about the 3006, but I know that the longest recorded kill shot with a .308 was at about one and a half miles, possibly more.
Most shooters that are killing bears with hounds are shooting their animals at about 20 or 30 feet away, when shooting the bear out of a tree. If shooting a bayed animal it can be 5 feet away. Shooting over bait can be 50 or more feet away. Hunting in the traditional manner, walking thru the woods...will often be measured in yards...100 yards or so. Traditional manner being no hounds, no bait. Each state has their own laws regarding hunting. For example in California it is ILLEGAL to kill a bear using bait.

Yes, a brown bear can kill a man, especially if you go close to her cubs, think you are going to take away their food source (which is mainly fish), or do not understand the warning signs to stay away. Respect their territory and habitat; we have taken away so much of their habitat that they will protect what ever is left for them.
No. A platypus cannot kill a bear. Not only would it not have the claws, teeth or size to kill a bear, but there are no bears in Australia.
Of course it can, if it hits the right area of the bear to kill it.
It will take 20 small dogs to kill a bear, and 5 large dogs to kill a bear.
