God did not intend for man to be alone.. that is way he made Eve. She was Adams suitable helper. God intended for male and female to marry and procreate. Only 1 man, and only 1 women. It is a sin to have more than one wife at one time. Jesus also taught that divorce is not pleasing to God. Thus it is one man with the same woman for life.
