About 14 - 15 units a week.
*************************
There is no such a thing as a recommended unit. Everyone reacts different when drinking. One has enough with one beer an evening, others can drink 10 or more. The problem is: You don´t know when it happens that you are addicted to it. One day you might wake up and see that you have an alcohol problem, but then it´s to late to think about it. Older people say, the are that old because they have drunk every day a little glass of wine and are not adicted to alcohol. For any case... I wouldn´t want to find out when the adiction happens.

any excessive drinking in man or woman will damage your liver, the amount varies person to person, and will also depend on how this quantity is consumed if you spread it out over the whole week it will do much less damage than if you drink it all once a week, I believe the "healthy" consumption amount is around 7-12 units per week (i.e. 1-1.4 units per day)
It is recommended you drink no more than 4 units of alcohol a week when taking methatrexate. This is due ti the medication interacting with alcohol in your liver and causing damage.
