There are 8 maids a-milking.
In the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" a person is gifted with many legged creatures. In fact, in only one departure from living creatures does the gift giver give the receiver a non-legged item, the 5 golden rings. In total, the number of legs that are given to the receiver in the song is 648. There is an argument to be made that as the eight maids were "a'milking" then you should include the cows legs, which would make it 808 legs. The maids would be sitting on three legged stools. If those are also included the total would be 928 legs!
The gifts are 12 lords a-leaping 11 ladies dancing 10 pipers piping 9 drummers drumming 8 maids a-milking 7 swans a-swimming 6 geese a-laying 5 gold rings 4 colly birds 3 French hens 2 turtle doves 1 partridge in a pear tree which totals 78 gifts, assuming that the partidge in the pear tree is counted as one single gift.
648
In the song "The twelve days of Christmas" my true love gave to me a total of 78 things.
There are 8 maids a-milking.
10 lords are leaping, there are 8 maids a-milking.
In the twelve days of Christmas there are 359 heads because if you count the all of the gifts then take away the rings you get 359. But if you were counting the heads of the cows that the maids were milking it would be 367 (You just add 8)
The conversion of milligrams (mg) to cubic centimeters (cc) depends on the density of the substance. To convert, you need to know the density of the specific substance in order to calculate how many cc are equivalent to 10mg.
I said 178 legs, because the maids have to be milking either a cow, goat, llama, alpaca, or camel, and they all have four legs. I also said 182 legs with "my true love" and "me". Please help! If you find a different answer, post it, and explain how you got it. Thanks!
I've heard several different versions of the song, mixing up which gifts were given on which days. The version with which I'm most familiar includes twelve drummers, eleven pipers, ten lords, nine ladies and eight maids, totaling 50 humans mentioned. But that's just on the twelfth day. If, for example, eight different maids a-milking were given on each of the ninth through twelfth days, the total would be...12 + 2 * 11 + 3 * 10 + 9 * 4 + 8 * 5= 12 + 22 + 30 + 36 + 40= 140That's a lot of people to be giving as gifts. I hope they went willingly. ;)
there are 12 days of cdhristmas in the song
365 days
Between 1 and 12 as per the fol: a partride a pear tree 2 turtle doves 3 french hens 4 calling birds 5 golden rings 6 geese-a-laying 7 swans-a-swimming 8 maids-a-milking 9 ladies dancing 10 lords-a-leaping 11 pipers piping 12 drummers drumming
