When the bar was first made in 1967,the rifles were not made in 257 Roberts. They were made in 243 Winchester, because of the popularity of that cartridge which made the 257 Roberts pretty much overlooked.
257 Roberts, 250 Savage
yes...i have a savage model 110 fns in a 257 roberts.....great shooter..it said on the box when i bought it that it was a special order rifle
Quite a few different ones. Some of the more notorious ones were war souvenir Japanese Arisaka rifles, which had been converted to fire the .257 Roberts, as the Japanese ammunition was a bit scarce on the commercial market. I know the Ruger rifles were made available in .257 Roberts, including the Mk. II and M77, as were the Winchester Model 70, Browning Model 81, and Remington 700. Sako made custom rifles in that calibre, as well.
Most of these rifles will range in price from 375-475 dollars depending on overall condition, and a good bore. There will be a premium if the rifle is chambered in a more unusual caliber(257 roberts,7mm Mauser etc.)
it depends on who made the rifle. weatherby, Remington. there are many commercial rifles built today that are worth money. if you get a original receiver and barrel complete. i have built 3 in my past and there worth about 3000 prairie dogs......
100-400 USD
Are you sure you have a Remington model 722 in .223 caliber? These bolt action short action rifles were chambered in 222 rem,222 rem mag,243 win,244 rem,257 Roberts,300savage,or .308 win.only.These bolt action rifles were made from 1948-1962 which is before the .223 rem cartridge exsisted.I believe that your rifle was rechambered at some point in time before you owned it.I would have a gunsmith take a casting of the chamber to be sure.I own a model 722 Remington in 300 savage caliber and I love this rifle.Good luck with yours.

The answer is yes...and no There are several models of Weatherby rifles. Different models are avail. in a plethora of calibers. Here is an example: If you have a Weatherby Mark V chambered for 7mm Weatherby Mag YOU CANNOT shoot 7MM Remington Mag ammo. Dont look at the manufacturer of the ammo, look at the caliber and do not interchange. Weatherby has several "propriatary" calibers, wby 7mm, wby 270, wby 257, wby 460, and others. Look on the barrel for the caliber stamp. If your rifle is chambered in one of these "weatherby" calibers, you must shoot either Wby ammo, or reload. If your rifle is chambered in a standard caliber (270 win, 30.06, 243, 7mm, 257, etc, etc, you can shoot any munufacturers ammo that is in that caliber.
