It all depends on whether it is an extended release tablet or an instant release tablet, the mode of administration, and the individual themselves. The opana ER tablets for me generally last about 9 hours before the effects really start winding down. If you have instant release or crush or chew the pill you will get a shorter, stronger release, but the duration will be a lot shorter (somewhere around 4-5 hours). If you snort it or take it rectally, the effects will be even shorter somewhere around 3 hours and these routes of administration can be dangerous because it increases the bioavailability of the drug, meaning that more of the drug will be consumed by your body thus increasing the effects for the same dosage. Oxymorphone is very strong taken these other routes, and mg for mg, is about 7 times stronger than morphine. When taken orally, it is about 3 times stronger. It's a very potent drug so don't go messing around with these alternate routes of administration. The mg dosage may not sound like a lot, but trust me these babies are potent.
