If you intend on keeping the piercings, jewellery should be left in the piercings, there is no reason to remove the jewellery except to get rid of the piercings. Piercings can take a full year to become seasoned to the point where jewellery can be removed for extended periods.

It's better for your ears, natural, and much more difficult for them to heal. You could keep them in for longer and not change them as much.
