How long should a kiss last?

I'm 12 years old and I am a girl, My boyfriend and i have been dating for exactly a mouth, today is a month, and we started dating on a Wednesday and we kissed that Friday at the movies, it lasted like 2 seconds,and than 3 weeks went by and he said he wanted to kiss at p.e during school so we did and it lasted 3 seconds, but last night we went to oops alley and kissed 6 times, 4 of them lasted 4 seconds and the others two lasted 8 seconds. (:

My friends only kissed there boyfriend once or twice, but I personally think it should last up to 5 seconds, sometimes it feels a little ocward just standing there with your hands dangling by your side so put your hands like on his neck, that's what i did and it felt a lot more comfortable.

Long time ago now, but when I was going steady with a girl I used to know we used to kiss at the longest for about 2 or 3 seconds, I tried to make it longer but she always broke away and not let me really get a proper kiss, that romance did not last long.

Several years later I met another girl, my future wife, and this girl, O boy she was the complete opposite of my previous girlfriend, when I started kissing her at first either at a dance or at the cinema she let me kiss her for a couple of minutes, I thought she is wonderful, I wonder how long can I make a kiss on her lips last, so I just started kissing, and the kiss just went on and on, no sign of her wanting me to stop, i.e. her gently pulling away from me to stop. This of course led me to fall in love with her and we eventually married. We went a lot to the cinema, at the back row, never watched the picture, and we just kissed and kissed, the kissing lasting for at least 20 minutes, a short break, and so on, we were so much in love. I do think that was the route of us having long making love sessions in bed once we were married, our love sessions last sometimes for over a hour, we still kiss a lot, sometime all though our love making. I have kissed her through foreplay, made love, still kissing and kept on kissing for another 15 minutes beyond that, so kissing is important for a couple, as they say in the song, "its in his kiss" and then he kissed me.
