Following a common sense aftercare routine, that's staying on cold stuff to keep the swelling in check, rinsing the piercings daily under running water while shuffling the jewellery to rinse away the discharge created by the piercings and keeping make up and other Skin Care products away from the piercing during the swelling and healing period.

The swelling stage is normally about two weeks post piercing, after two weeks if the swelling has settled the jewellery should be stepped down (shortened in the case of labret studs), the healing will progress from there another 4 ~ 6 weeks to afford you what is called a "light heal". This doesn't mean the piercings are fully healed that process takes for an average person a full year to achieve a "seasoned fully healed piercing", regardless of where or what was pierced.

No one heals in a matter of days or weeks regardless of the internet misinformation or the high tech healing solutions some bogus piercers try to sell you (snake oil, just another cash grab from your wallet or purse).
