One Kilo or kilogram is equal to 2.2 pounds. The burn time will depend on the amount of air that is being used for combustion, the actual temperature OF the air, the intensity of the combustion air (forced or normal air flow). The amount of draft (amount of combustion air moving over and through the burning coal and the type of flue the burned off gases have to move through. Depending on the situation, it could burn off in as short a period of time as 15 minutes or as long as several hours. There is no quick answer to this. But If you were to be able to get 1 kilo of coal started burning in say a pot with holes drilled in the bottom for combustion air and the top of the pot in open air (never do this without ventilation -coal gas is deadly!!!)It would probably burn for several hours...enough to warm you up if you were stuck in a storm in the woods!
