It can take 3 - 4 weeks to fully heal. It is one of the fastest healing piercings. Swelling generally lasts for the first 10 - 14 days.

How long does it take for a seasoned tongue piercing to close up?

Well it depends on lots of factors like how long you've had the piercing. They don't usually close up but will become very small and not be obvious. Once a piercing is fully healed scar tissue has formed around it and scar tissue does not heal over. If you are serious about wanting the hole closed you would have to cut it and let it heal which will cause more scar tissue to form in the hole but I would talk to a doctor about it. Don't do it to yourself.

How long before a new tongue piercing closes?

It doesn't take long before a new tongue pierce hole closes because when you open and close your mouth your hole in you tongue just gets used to having nothing in it so i would say about 24 hours before it closes.

Will braces affect your tongue piercing?

Braces can sometimes irritate a tongue piercing because the piercing can get caught on the braces, leading to discomfort or potential damage. It's important to be mindful of this and take extra care when wearing braces and having a tongue piercing.

I got my tongue pierced and its to far back i went to 2 other piercers and they said it was fine but im unhappy with it if i take it out how long should i wait to get it repierced?

Normal placement is 3/4" from the tip of the tongue to the top ball. If your tongue is unusually long placement can vary slightly. If you remove the piercing (no sooner than 72 hours from the time the piercing was first done) you will need to wait at least 3~4 weeks from removal date to get the piercing redone. The tongue swells and distends once it's pierced so we need to be sure this swelling is gone and the old piercing had healed up so there is no bump or distension from the old piercing to interfere with the new piercing. edit: did you know people get (not uncommon either) brain abscesses from their tongue piercings? be careful, because this is definitely one of the most dangerous areas to pierce considering how close it is to your brain stem.

Does a tongue piercing affect your singing?

A tongue piercing can potentially affect your singing by altering the way you articulate vowels and consonants, as well as impacting your ability to control your tongue movements. It may take time to adjust to singing with a tongue piercing, and some singers may experience changes in their vocal abilities. Consulting with a vocal coach or speech therapist can help address any challenges the piercing may present.
