Usually you have your period at specific times when taking birth control. If you have concerns, take a pregnancy test.

Menopause means you've had no period for 12 months. Once that's true, you don't need birth control.

What do they do at the appointment before you have the contraceptive implant taken out?

I have no idea. There's no medical need for a "pre-removal" appointment to take out the contraceptive implant.

When you can you get the contraceptive implant?

You can get it at any time of your cycle. It is advised that you get it on the 1st or 2nd day of your period. You need to be sure that you are not pregnant first which is why majority of planning is during your period. To be sure I'd get it the week of my period and then use back up protection for the first 2 weeks after you get it in. Works a treat.

Can you start to use the contraceptive patch right now?

Yes, but if "right now" is not the first day of your period, you will need to use back up (like condoms) for the next seven days.

Does the morning after pill cause constipation?

No, you should feel anything after taking the pill. If at all you get the same side effect then you might need to check with the doctor or pharmacist for a different pill or method of contraceptive.

How can a period be stopped for a wedding less than two weeks away?

You can get hormone tablets from the doctor which will stop a period for a wedding or holiday. You will need the same checks you would have if using oral contraceptive but they are not birth control pills and your period will come normally within a few hours of stopping them.

What can you use to stop an ongoing period?

I don't think you can stop your cycle. Its a natural thing. However there are ways you can lighten your period, I know that contraceptive (birth control) pills can delay your period for about a month (if its the "morning after pill") or if you're taking regular contraceptive pills then your period won't be as heavy or as long as the normal cycle. You should get a Doctor's opinion and also a prescrption from him/her if you want contraceptive pills as they are not sold over the counter except for "the morning after pill". If you go to the chemist or drug store you can get ONE morning after pill over the counter - Its usually not a problem although some chemists or drug stores ask you to fill in a form with your information and a reason why you want the pill so be prepared if you're going to opt for that. They probably won't sell it to you if you tell them you want to delay or lighten your period, so just say that your reason is you just want to be safe. Same as with your doctor if you want him to fill out a prescrption for contraceptive pills, don't tell him you want to lighten your period, just say you need contraceptive pills. This is just one way, I'm sure there are other ways to lighten your period but I doubt you can make it stop. All women go through it, its just a few days to a week of discomfort and ocassional pain, I guess you'll get used to it.

Can you take the contraceptive pills earlier on some days?

It depends on what pill you are using, if you are on a "mini-pill" of only progesterone you need to take it every 24 hours give or take 1.5 hours on either side. Taking a mini-pill even 3 hours late is the same as missing a pill. Taking most BCP, a combination of estrogen and progesterone - as long as you take it every day - you are protected from pregnancy.
