I would say 6 months to be on the safe side. And if you want to change it after about 4 or so months, then have the other ring ready and switch it quickly. I've had mine for about 5 years, and now I can keep it out for weeks and it still doesn't close.
Chances are really good that the piercing will shrink making reinsertion of the barbell difficult, if this occurs visit your local body piercer where they can reinsert it using and insertion taper.
It doesn't take long before a new tongue pierce hole closes because when you open and close your mouth your hole in you tongue just gets used to having nothing in it so i would say about 24 hours before it closes.
I had my tongue pierced twice.. once for 1 year and took it out for about a year and got it repierced about a year laer and my holes never closed up completely because i just reopened it myself and it has been almost two years...So i guess it depends on the person because my friends's closed after two weeks.
Well, its really hard to say because everyone's body will react differently, and it depends on how your body heals. A tongue piercing is considered an open wound right up until you let it close. After five years mine is still considered that. I have had mine for about five years now and I'm so used to it that when i take it out, i forget. I have gone a little over two weeks with it out and it didn't close or get smaller. I had a tongue ring for close to four years and it took a couple days at most. I don't think it actually matters how long it's been once it has been more than a year or two.
You'll have a lisp whilst the tongue is healing, when the swollen has gone down you should be fine, however, some peoples lisps stay after getting their tongue pierced, my sister is. I'm going through this step at the moment i have a lisp and cant speak or anything
4-6 weeks for a light heal the piercing will take a full year to season.
A complete healing of tongue piercing can take up to 4 weeks.
Depends on how long you had the piercing before removing the jewellery.
I heard you have to wait three weeks before you can even take the first tongue ring out. or maybe it was five weeks... but anyway dont take it out for at least 2 weeks and then see what happens. but dont leave it out too long or else it will close up.
It takes 655321 licks with your stupid tongue ring. WOMAN
it doesnt matter
I took mine out about a week in and replaced it with a clear bar, but they tell you you should wait a minimum of 2 wks before you remove the original bar. You can't keep the bar out or the hole will close. It's only a matter of minutes before it will close so I don't advise you to take it out and keep it out. Just replace it with a tongue retainer. You can google them. Also, it doesn't matter how long you've had the piercing, your tongue heals quickly and the hole will close. I know someone who had their tongue piercing for 10 yrs but when she took her tongue ring out it only took about half an hour before the hole started closing.
unscrew the barbells. unscrew the barbells.
First tongue piercings don't have "rings" second yes you can take it out early but the question is why would you want to?
How much, where do I sign, how do I take care of it.
You only have to wait until the swelling goes down.Improved Answer:PLZZZ wait at leat a month or so before you change your tongue ring... because if you don't then when you take it out to put in your new ring your tongue WILL swell causeing the hole to instantly close back up... even if your tongue isn't swolen any more dosent mean it cant swell back up... && most likely it will... just wait.. it wont hurt to wait...
