u can be 1 week pregnant and get the symptoms but i take at least 3-4 weeks to show in some people
Perform a pregnancy test to determine if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, see your Doctor for confirmation of your pregnancy.
Yes. Home pregnancy tests only read up to a certain amount of hCG or the pregnancy hormone. Anything above that number would read negative.
the positive answer on the tests are very rarely wrong, HCG is the hormone produced when someone is pregnant, which is what shows up on the test and is not there to detect by urine tests when someone is not pregnant. although there are some medications etc that can affect the reliability of the test.
It shows a high amount of a certain hormone
A pregnancy test
Yes. Most commonly when you are pregnant and take a home pregnancy test it shows up fairly quick. Especially if you are far enough along that your hormone levels are already pretty high.
OBGYNs typically don't do pregnancy tests until your period is 2 weeks late. This is because many pregnancies do not last past the 1st week or so, and OBGYNs treat viable pregnancies. Before the availability of home pregnancy tests, most women did not know they had an early miscarriage. With home pregnancy tests, you can test as soon as it is time for your period. This is because once the egg is fertilized and implants into the uterine lining, there is a new hormone released. The pregnancy test shows if that hormone is present. Without that hormone being present, the uterine lining sheds and you have your period. Thus, you can know you are pregnant as soon as you expect your period.
According to most pregnancy tests, a second faint line does indeed mean that you are pregnant. The second line only shows up if the pregnancy hormone is in your urine. So if it is there at all, then you are pregnant. If you take the test early, like before your missed period, this may be why the line is faint. Wait until after your missed period and repeat the test to be completely sure of the accuracy.
She's pregnant if the test shows positive
Yes. The hormone levels have to go up for the test and if they aren't there it will be negative. Sometimes you are pregnant, but there is a problem and a natural abortion is taking place so the test shows negative.
Congrats your pregnant! I did the same thing when my hubby and I were trying. It was 4 days before my expected period and there was a faint pink line and a dark line. The faint pink shows small traces of the pregnancy hormone, take another test in a few days and the line will be darker because there is more of the pregnancy hormone in your system. Most home pregnancy tests should be accurate from around 2 weeks after ovulation (coinciding with the time your period is due). If it shows negative at this point and you still miss your period, wait another week and retest. Pregnancy tests test for a hormone called HCG which basically doubles every day in early pregnancy, so after around 3 weeks of negative testing, you are probably not pregnant. If in doubt go to the doctor and get a blood test which will prove for definite eitherway.
