He is not considered a sinner in the ordinary perspective, However, he and his business partner Jacob Marley thought nothing of the human suffering that they potentially cause or could make changes to their business mode to alleviate other suffering. Marley came back to warn Scrooge that his after life was in jeopardy as he would walk the earth in eternal torment. Basically he would not enter heaven
