Research helps because it increases your knowledge on the subject you are studying, so if you were going to take a quiz on what you researched, you would do better.

But if you are talking about looking something up, it is very helpful. ((by the way, this is coming from a 6th grader so I'm saying what I know)) Researching in more than one place can give you more information than just looking in one spot and not doing anymore. ;)
