How does Facebook work?

Facebook is a website so you can communitcate with people from all over the world and meet new people and find out on what people are up to. Facebook is very easy to use as soon as u get use to it, it doesn't take long to get use to it. It is really fun! There are games, you can add tons of friends, and it is basically like myspace but ten times more fun!

To Get Started on Facebook

Google for Facebook, or type in their URL. Then, create an account. You will get an E-mail back. Sign in.

Make sure you write down the E-mail address you used for Facebook and your Facebook Password.

Go to Account (top right). Look at the Privacy settings first. Think about whether you want "everyone" to see your private information. Adjust those settings as you want. Click Save.

Next, go to Account Settings. Look through each one to see if there are ones that need changed.

Next, start adding "Friends" -- "Friends" on Facebook can be family, real-life friends, or strangers. There is a "Find Friends" search you can use. NOTE: Be careful adding strangers---sometimes, strangers prove to be untrustworthy; they can send links that are embedded with Trojan Horses, Viruses, or Password hacker software.

There is a Main Wall -- "everyone", "just your friends" or "friends of friends" or "only you" can see what you post--- depending on which setting you picked. You can post comments on anyone else's posts. You can talk to other people, post to your "wall" what your status is, or say whatever is on your mind.

You also have a Personal Wall. You can add photos, add links, add notes, etc. Remember! Every person you "friend" can see everything you post. Your school / teachers, employer, and others can see IF you make your account public.

Next, you can search for and add Applications, such as Games. You can answer Quizzes. You can send images from different Apps (Applications).

TIP: Start slowly when adding strangers. Find out who is there to share, such as on Games, or who is there to make trouble. You can "De-friend" anyone at any time.
