How do you work the samsung captivate galaxy front camera?

There isn't a front camera on the illusion. What appears to be a camera lens on the front of the phone is actually the proximity and light sensor.

There is not a front facing camera on the Captivate. Only a sensor that turns off the screen when the phone is put up to your face, or put in your pocket.
