when i was 13 yrs old i sent away for a daisy bb gun on the the back of a comic, i paid 13.95$ and checked the mail every day until it finally came, i ran home to hide it in the barn from my parents. i shot thouands of rounds every day until, there was nothing i couldn,t hit. i remmber aming at a sparrow sitting on top of the roof of thre house so i took careful aim, squeesed off a shot, and to my assonisment killed the sparrow. my sights were fixed semi buck horn front and rear. This kind of aiming is part instintive ( after many rounds of plinking ), and partly the way your brain see,s the target in the sight picture.your windige was moving the stosk of the gun to the left or right, your elevation ( front sight blade ) up or down. iv,e tried afew scopes as i moved to a 22 cal,and to be dead on i had to adjust the optics to be close to the target, so i removed the scope and went back to instinct shooting.try shooting at tin cans at different distances and watch how close you can get to the can. i just got through filling down the rear sight on my rem.552 speedmaster and it is dead on with a rear sight that resemblels more of a buck horn sight don,t be afraid to brake out some small files , front and rear sights are cheepto replace. good luck
