There are a few ways to go about it.
1) If your camera came with a USB cord then you can plug the cord directly into the side of your camera and then plug the other side into one of the USB ports on your computer. Once you have purchased one, then you insert your card into the proper slot on the card reader. Each slot on the card reader should be labeled, for example, SD. Once you have inserted the card into the reader & plugged the reader into the computer, a pop up window will give you a number of options of how to upload your pictures
