1. Turn iPhone or iDevices sideways to put it into scientific mode.

2. The exponent button is shown as y^x (Y is your number raised to X, the exponent number).

Example: 2^4 = 16,

On the iPhone, first press 2

then press y^x

then press 4

then press =.

Do not mistake y^x and EE, where EE stands for (any number here) X 10^x.
