The sears model 200 is a Winchester 1200. That will make it easier to find info. I have one of these, with adjustable choke and vent rib. It is a sweet shooting and smooth little shotgun.
Approximately 1967, 1968. I have one sn 413xxx I have narrowed down to 1967.
How to break down a model 120 or a 140 same as a 1200 or 1500 http://books.google.com/books?id=zRJm6uF7TSIC&pg=PA538&lpg=PA538&dq=THE+WINCHESTER+MODEL+120&source=bl&ots=T-yjfR-FgY&sig=B6_I2ozM1We8WP65r99vZxyQZ90&hl=en&ei=lu1jSsuxL9y_twex4Yn9Dw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1
All Winchester model 12's are take-down designs. Winchester made a model 25 which is solid frame and very similar to the model 12.
Winchester never made a Model 37 410 Gauge shotgun. Model 37 was a single-shot shotgun made in 1936. Winchester's first 410 Gauge shotgun was Model 41 in 1920. Later he followed by making Model 42 a 410 Gauge Shotgun with slide action in 1993. I must beg to differ from the answer above. I am looking at, holding and gazing at my beautiful "Winchester Model 37 SteelBilt .410 3 In Chamber" Shotgun!!!! Given to me by my mother who did her fair share of knocking down pheasants and rabbits with this little gem! It is a 1950 from my Grandfather to my mother and then to me!!!! Smooth barrel and an absolute masterpiece!!! Thanks, I know the first one was wrong because I'm looking at mines that was passed down to me in my family that was made before i was born 43 years ago and i know its got to be at least 50 years or older cause my grandpa passed it along to his grand boys and i was the last one to have it.
CommentI own a model 37 Winchester 20 gauge. I would also like to know what it is worth. I have read on the Winchester site that some were red lettered and these are more sought after. The price ranges from 300-700+ I would not sell you're 37 red letter, they are very rare. I have one and it was passed down to me from my grandfather, I would hold on to it and pass it down to you kids or grandkids. Like I said they are very rare now and it would NT be wise to sell. Please hold it.
Ask a gunsmith for assistance.
don't take down a Winchester model 52, the way they bedded the rifle was a mystery. It may never shoot the same if you take it apart.
duh...who cares?? I've never bought a gun and worried about the value down the road. I buy them for protection or sport!!
Best to get help from a qualified gunsmith.
We can narrow it down to sometime between 1897 and 1977. Over a million model 97's were manufactured over that 80 year period. Give a serial number and we can determine an exact year for yours.
