1. make sure the gun is empty 2. Pull the slide to the rear like you are going to chamber a round, lifting gently, 3. As you ride the slide forward you will see the retainer pin slide just continue to ride it forward. The slide will catch the pin you can feel it give then pull it back again, and ride it off the barrel, 4. good luck. same steps in reverse to go back together.
