How do you stop yourself from saying something stupid when you are trying to think of things to say to a girl?

Well I think the best thing to do is concentrate on being yourself. Try planning on what you're going to say and practice saying it. It might sound weird but it helps. Also try and get comfortable talking to her. Just always remember to be yourself!
Just strike up a normal, light, flattering conversation with them without commenting on your own words. Try to seem pleasant while being yourself. Don't try to be funny when you know you won't be because that is just annoying. start your conversation with something like "how are you", "how's school" whatever but don't start them as if you already know them if you don't. one more thing, try to take hints. if you can see that the girl is looking annoyed or uncomfortable, try to either loosen the conversation or say something to end the conversation like "well i will see you around" but nothing to abrupt. *the main key is to be yourself and not spice up your personality.
