They're not easy to stop even with medicine.
First, you need to relax your body. You may have many ways of relaxing, but some include such "minor" things as watching a fun movie, cuddling a favourite toy bear, listening to music or reading a good book (don't laugh: all of these things and more are relaxing and relaxation will help).
Second, keep your abdomen warn. There's a lot going on down there, so get a warm (not boiling) hot water bottle or one of those microwavable bags or bears full of seeds and put it on your lower belly. Wrap up warm and get cozy and keep the warm thing on your belly. Drink plenty of water to keep your fluid levels up.
Many women swear by having a little or a lot of chocolate when they're cramping. Try it, but remember that chocolate might keep you awake (sleep helps this a lot, so you don't want that). Perhaps Hot Chocolate or cocoa might work for you. Don't have chocolate if you're one of the large minority of women who gets migraines whilst they're menstrating.
Above all, remember that you're a human being with human needs. If you're truly in agony, there's no reason to put up with it "just because it's a woman's problem". See your doctor (you're entitled to ask for a female doctor; you're entitled to ask for a different doctor) if you can't stand the pain. There are treatments, many non-medicinal. There's also the contraceptive pill: it's not a crime to be abstinent (if you are) and still take the pill. It'll make things more bearable, even if you're not sexually active, even if you're underage for sexual activity. The important thing is to not suffer in silence: you're NORMAL!
An ungodly amount of cocaine.
A good calf massage will releave the discomfort.
The reason why your cramps get worse as you get older is most likely due to the shifting of hormone levels in the body. Not all women find that their menstrual cramps worsen with age and some forms of contraception can actually make cramps lessen or disappear.
Certain things can make cramps less noticeable. Try an over-the-counter pain killer or medicine. This usually helps for the most part. Easting a healthy diet can also prevent some cramps in the future. If your period is regular, you can take a pain medicine a day or so before your period begins to try and minimize or stop cramps before they even happen. If it is so severe that it is affecting your every-day life, talk with your doctor. There may be a reason behind this. If not, your doctor could possibly prescribe you a stronger pain killer to help ease the pain. Going on birth control (like the Pill) can also help to ease some of the side effetcs, like cramping. When i had really bad cramps i read somewhere that soaking in a warm bath might ease the cramps down. i tried it and it actually worked!! I suggest it to anyone who has cramps especially bad cramps.

Once your period has started you can't stop your period, not for just one day, and there is no reason why you should given as there's nothing thatyou can't do during your period. You can delay your period for a day before it starts by taking progesterone medicine such as Norethisterone.
