A lag switch is made by cutting out your internet connection to your PS3 when you flip the switch then reconnecting it when you re flip it. However, if you are caught using a law switch on multiplayer game you could get your account banned from PSN. Lag switches do not work in all games, and sometimes attempting to use it will result in you dying instead of getting a kill, and even if it does work you are violating the TOS of PSN.

If you are talking about server lag (which I suspect), there are many ways to fix this.Make sure your Internet Provider's Internet is applicable with Xbox 360/PS3's networks.Try using a "CAT .5" Ethernet cable with your Xbox 360/PS3. (I don't recommend using the wireless!)Make sure no other Internet sources are running while you are gaming. (Computers, Apple Products, ect.) Downloading while playing causes major lagging!If you have tried all this and still get lag, switch out you hard-drive with more GB's. This will help with more memory space!Good luck!

On the PS3, yes. Box 360, I'm not sure. On the PS3 it pauses the downloads, therefore decreasing lag, if it didn't the lag would be unbearable.
