For the iphone 4: I have researched and can't find anything that tells how to edit the auto-correct function, but if you go to settings/general/reset, there is an option to "reset keyboard dictionary"... This effectively wipes out any annoying auto-correct errors. Then again, it also deletes any custom auto-correct settings your phone has already saved.
