There is a pin at the end of the mag tube. Look for the flared end and tap the pin out by tapping on the opposite side (i.e. the unflared end). Use a small bar or pin of some sort to lever the aluminum plug out. Nothing retains the spring so heads up. When you put the spring and plug and pin back make sure you get the orientation right. The plug has to have the hole/threads toward the end of the tube, and the cut-out in the pin must line up with the handguard retaining screw hole in the plug.
Remove the magazine tube cap. The plug is inserted inside the spring, and cap replaced. You may want to have a gunsmith do this. It will take less time for him to do it than it will for you to find the springs that got loose.
No, there is only room for 2 shells, ever. You cannot increase it's capacity.
Make sure it is unloaded and it needs to be on safety. Then all you do is remove the magazine cap, release the retainer, let the spring pop out and then you can remove the plug.
Best to ask a gunsmith for assistance.
Best left to a trained gunsmith.
The plug is just a stick inside the magazine tube that limits how far the spring will compress.Remove the cap at the muzzle end of the magazine tube, but be very careful. There is a big long spring under pressure in there and it's going to come flying out if you're not ready for it.
The "plug" is just a stick slipped inside the magazine to limit the amount of space, but there's a big long spring in magazine too, so be VERY careful when you take the cap off the muzzle end of the magazine tube or stuff's going to go flying. (and save the stick, you may want to put it back some day)
Remove the 2 screws from the end or the mag tube and the cap and spring will come out. Do so carefully as the spring is compressed
The limitation is because of a plug put into the magazine tube - typically, some sort of dowel rod. When hunting, you must have this. When not hunting, all you have to do is unscrew the end cap off the magazine tube and remove the plug.
Remove the gas system. Drift out the black cross pin out of the magazine tube. The pin is directly below the gas system through a polymer plug. The polymer plug should come out of the top of the magazine tube when you remove that pin, so be VERY careful when removing the pin. Now remove the magazine spring. On the follower end of the spring should be the plug you are wanting to remove. Remove it from the spring. And put the spring and polymer plug back in. The dished end of the polymer plug goes toward the end of the magazine tube.
It breaks like a Model 12 and on top of the mag trube there are screws. Remove them and the cap comes flying off along with spring and plug. Do not loos the parts, hard to find. Replace the same way.
remove magazine end cap and hold one hand over end (CAUTION RETAINER IS SPRING LOADED POINT IN A SAFE DIRECTION WHEN REMOVING) using a flat head screwdriver pry up on retainer. Check your local regulations before removing the plug on your gun.
