With MOST bolt action rifles, empty the weapon, check that it is clear, take safety off, open the bolt, draw to the rear, depress and hold trigger, and bolt can be withdrawn. A few require the trigger be pushed forward.
take it off
Move the safety forward to the 'fire' position, then open the bolt. As you are sliding the bolt to the open position, pulling the trigger will allow the bolt to be removed.
Pull the bolt handle straight out. Remove the two screws holding the receiver cover and lift cover off. Mind the ejector which is loose stamped steel, held in by the cover. Remove screw holding the barrel to the stock and remove the barrel. Remove bolt to the front and clean. Reassemble in reverse order. Take care to replace the ejector.
Remove the stock and you will see what is keeping the bolt from sliding out.
To remove the bolt on a British Enfield: Open the bolt and pull to the rear as far as possible. Grasp the protruding part of the bolt face and rotate it upward. Pull the bolt out while pressing the trigger. I don't recommend disassembling the bolt.
Do you not have an owner's manual? Have you tried an internet search on "rifle cleaning procedures"?
Best left to a gunsmith
It could be that you have a A-bolt hunter model I,But I am not 100%certain.I can say that your browning bolt action rifle was made in the year 1979 by the two letters in the serial number(RN).
Open the bolt, pull it to the rear, hold the trigger back and remove the bolt. sales@countrygunsmith.net
