It depends on where you are. In most U.S. states, you don't have to register any guns. If you are unsure, check with a local gun dealer.

Do you have to register a shotguns in Texas?

You have to register any gun in the United States of America. You do not have to register a shotgun in Texas. The other person who answered may have have been thinking of the procedure when you purchase a gun. If you move to Texas and take your shotgun with you I don't think there is any requirement that you register the shotgun when you get to Texas. We took some guns out of Texas to Grand Cayman on a yacht. We register the guns with US customs before we left.

How do you register your hand gun in the state of Mississippi?

To give you a short answer- you don't. Like MOST US States, there is no requirement or provision for you to register an ordinary rifle, shotgun or handgun with anyone. If you buy a gun from a dealer, the dealer will make a record of the purchase (a form 4473) which is retained at the dealership.

Are you required to register a shotgun in California?

You are not required to register your shotgun. In fact the California Attorney General says: "California law does not require persons moving into California report rifles or shotguns. One important thing to be aware of though is that certain rifles and shotguns may be defined as 'assault weapons' in California and are prohibited from entering this state under most normal circumstances. Additionally, machine guns and ammunition feeding devices with the capacity to accept greater that 10 rounds may not be transported into California." http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/ab991.php --- this link takes you to it. If you do have a handgun you are required to register it within 60 days.

What is a Harrington Richardson Handy Gun 410-12mm choke Model 1915 sn 19190 rifle worth. And how can you properly register the HR Handy Gun?

410 is a shotgun, not a rifle. And I can't find any H&R Model 1915, rifle, shotgun, or pistol, so that is probably a patent date. What type action does it have and are there any other markings? The 410 Handy Gun is a pistol which fires 410 shotgun rounds. It is impossible to register and illegal from what I've been able to gather. The Handy Gun is a .410 bore shotgun pistol manufactured by H&R. The Model 1915 was the successor to the Model 1905 shotgun line. The 410-12mm refers to the bore size simply in millimeters instead of inches. They were also marked 410-44 from 1916-1921. The 410-12mm marking was used between 1922-1936. If the gun is not already registered as a short barreled shotgun it will probably not be allowed and will most likely be confiscated by the BATF. I have a standard Model 1915 myself.
