What I tend to do is just cover it with a light breathable layer of this almost "second skin" tegaderm bandage. It's just a clear breathable layer which you can buy at most grocery stores in the bandaid section. It keeps it from snagging on your clothes or it coming into contact with something that could cause infection. Just one thing though, when you put on your little bandage, make sure your belly button is dry. This is so that the skin will not soften and possibly tear or help an infection get worse (and quite possibly a few other reasons).

I've heard that you can get an eye patch at any drug store and just tape it over your belly button with strong medical tape. Eye patches (if you get a good kind) are made out of hard plastic and will cover/protect your piercing. I don't think they're to expensive either...

you can put on a bandage over it or a large square plater, not to wrap around you body kind of like an over sized bandage.

put a massive plaster on it it stops it from moving if its hit. thats what i did in football
