Get a Y-adapter with 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo male to dual RCA female, Radio Shack has them.
Plug the 1/8" male into your laptop headphone plug and then connect a set of audio( RCA red and white)audio cables from the adapter to your Tv. Match the colors up , usually the white is the left audio and the red is the right audio. Works good on my system.
