lingual vein
The tongue piercing done by a professional body piercer reduces the odds of striking a vein greatly, it's what we do and we know what to look for. Be sure to get this piercing done by an experienced professional body piercer and you will have no worries. Research, ask questions and check references.
It is called the arterial vein, and should not be punctured. Never ever pierce yourself, especially your tongue. You run the risk of irritation, infection, migration, rejection and even Hepatitis if you are not careful.
I really have no clue, but please, don't pierce your tongue! It can cause many dental problems, like receding gums, a swollen tongue, and it's especially painful. Nobody uses and pain-number when piercing tongues. The tongue ring can also scratch the enamel off teeth, causing you to get a ton of cavities and eventually your tooth to fall out. It can also cause tooth pain. If you pierce a nerve or a vain, your tongue could swell so much you would suffocate (it happens pretty often), or your tongue would permanently hurt so long as you kept the ring on. Seriously, do not pierce your tongue!!!!!!Even though some of the above is correct, it doesnt really answer the question.Don't pierce your tongue yourself. You risk infection, disease contraction, and severe blood loss. Go to a professional and they'll know where to pierce it.
No, you can not see the third vein in your tongue. But, there are 2 main purplish, sublinqual veins you can see underneath your tongue. But consider all the taste buds you have as well.
It depends on the person. Usually you don't get your tongue pierced if your vein is in the way because it causes excessive bleeding.
i am pretty sure it is in the tongue
Is a extremely stupid idea. Unless you want to die.
I've heard one story where the piercer went around the vein in the middle of the girls tongue somehow but it's supposed to be dangerous and I'm not sure that they're supposed to do it
Actually yes you can. Some people have a third vein running down the middle of their tongue and when one gets a tongue piercing it is done in the middle of the tongue. So when the needle pierces it it will bleed more than tongues w/o that third vein would. But you can still get a tongue piercing if you have that 3rd vein. All professional piercers know how to control bleeding. It's in their training
Unlikely, although hitting a vein does increase the chance of an infection.
Don't! Do it professionally. If you do it yourself, you may hit a vein and lose all sensation in your tongue.
