You can but I suggest boiling it first or using a lighter to get all the germs off- also, you need to remember that a sewing needle is super skinny so unless you can find jewelry that's the same size of a sewing needle I wouldn't do it. I pierced my own lip before but it was with an actual piece of ear jewelry so I knew that it would be the gauge I wanted it to be- plus a sewing needle kind of hurts your finger when you're trying to push it through, so I'd also suggest putting an eraser on the end of it so it doesn't stab your finger. Sure you can if you want to get an infection. Boiling it doesn't do you any good. The water allows more bacteria to collect on the needle. Also, it only sanitizes the needle. Professionals use autoclaves which completely sterilize the needle. The sewing needle is way too small to have a comfortable transition between the needle and the jewelry. Fact of the matter is that you are not trained to pierce yourself. DON'T DO IT. Wearing ear jewelry in a lip piercing is a bad idea. The back of the earring will most likely become embedded in your lip. Save up the money to get it done by a pro. Just because some people are lucky enough to not get infections doesn't mean you'll be just as lucky.
Put a needle through your lip. Donna Was Here xx Love You.
That would depend on each individuals personal pain threshold. But it would hurt anyone more if the piercer had no proper training or equipment (like if someone pierced their own lip with a sewing needle) Either way it would hurt, no matter what, as it is jabbing a needle through a body part.
Don't do it yourself. Go to a person who knows how. This is not something you want to do wrong because it could ruin your lip for the rest of your life. But if you were to pierce it yourself pierce it from the outside going in.
yea, but it would look wierd, (depending on how big it is)
Yes. You can do irreparable damage to your lip muscles and tendons piercing your own lip. i heard that you can, bit i did mine 4 times myself and it all turned out fine. just be careful i guess.
Honestly, there aren't too many ways that are safe. And unless you want a serious infection, get someone professional to do it.WikiAnswers is not a venue to provide how to information that can lead to serious personal injury
you don't. go see a professional. and it will still swell some.
NEVER PIERCE YOURSELF UNLESS YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL. Considering that you're asking this question, you definitely aren't a pro. Lip piercings can be tricky to pierce in the right place. Your piercer has to look at you lip/teeth/gums to choose the right place to pierce so that it'll sit right and not rub on your gums/teeth. If you do it yourself, you risk infection, nasty scarring, disease contraction and gum or tooth erosion down the road. Which is irreversible. Just save up, and go to a legitimate professional.
No..as long as it is only your own blood on the needle (it was a sterile needle before you used it) and you were the one getting stuck. You can only get hep C if someone else who has hep c used the needle before you did.
If I were you, I'd go to a professional, but make sure you go to someone recommended or else they might use dirty needles, etc. ----------------------- There is no "safe" way to pierce your own lip. If you are hell bent on doing it yourself then I would recommend lots and lots of research and you're going to spend more to do it right at home than you would if you were having it done professionally.
RIGHT,everyones on here going on about how dangerous piercings are if you do then at home, however, if you do it the right way then that's fine(Y)obvs some home piercings have gone so wrong or perfectand judging on what some people have experienced or know someone whos experienced a home piercing that's gone rong are on here saying how its bad and stufff. tbh i don't see whats rong, the piercing shops use a needle for belly, lip, piercings ect. its like when i did my top ear, everyone was on here saying no no no and some people saying go for it, yeah i went for it, and it was fine(Y). rele hoping to pierce my own top lip, but yeh not too sure yet.(Y)your on here to ask questions about how to pierce your own lip, not get put off the whole idea. so yeah go for it if you want to, don't let anyone tell you not to (Y)
