The variable resistors which control the screen refresh rate may need readjustment. Does the screen show the lines when you move the screen around or move them closer/away form your eyes? If so, then this would be why. Open up your battery cover, and look for two very small, screw-like components (you can tell they're not screws because they will be much shinier), and each one controls a single screen. Using a small + screwdriver, carefully turn one of them, and see if it has made a difference to your screen. Experimenting around with them helps, but please be careful not to accidentally break them off, as they can be hard to replace.
