If the patch has been released, Steam will automatically update the game when you launch it.
un-install the game and then you have to re-download it from steam , it then updates itself and you should be ok to play it after that.
Launch Steam.Click the Games menu, choose Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.Browse for games on your computer or put a check next to the game(s) you wish to add to the Library.Click Add Selected Programs
Skyrim uses Steam for distribution, copy protection, and the Steam Workshop ... and nothing else, since it's not an online multiplayer game. You can launch Skyrim through Steam in offline mode and play just fine. You can also navigate into the game's folder in the vicinity of SteamApps/Common to launch the game manually without Steam. So no, the internet is not required to play a single-player offline game. If you're not logged in, though, your Steam achievements might not update ... like anybody really cares about your Steam achievements.
Yes, as long as your computer meets the minimum requirements. Just launch the game from Steam.
Boil some water, its that easy
As unhelpful as this may be, I would reccommend typing in "my steam games wont launch" or something of the sort into Google, it is usually helpful in this case.
Run it just as you would on Windows XP. Start up Steam, select the game, click launch.
You cannot turn a non-steam game into a steam game, however, you can add it to the list of your steam games by clicking the "add game" button in the "library" section. This will not make it a steam game, it will only cause the game to show up on the list.
Go to your games library and select Portal on the left pane. Then in the middle window, find the small "play" button under the game's title.
Click on launch game. But I have a question too. Do you download it?
The easiest would be to re-download Team Fortress 2. Right click on Team Fortress 2 in your games-list, delete local files, and download it again.
