Well if you do not clip your plant it will not bud as quickly. It usually takes about three to six months for the plant to even be ready for any budding. Just basically keep an eye on it and wait for nature to take its toll.

the leaf is not what you want. The bud is where the glory is. The leafs do not make you high at all, so dont smoke them. Smoke the buds.
