Before you say anything to him you should smile at him from a distance. Keep making eye contact until he notices you. Then, walk up to him and put out your hand. Tell him "hi, I'm _____" Comment on something that has to do with the immediate situation like "Wow, this is a neat party" or compliment him on his feature that you like. Don't compliment his clothing, men are not interested in hearing what a woman has to say about his fashion. Men love to hear, "You have such nice eyes" or "I can't help myself, I have to tell you that you have an infectious smile."

Be bold and most of all, be yourself. Also, find out who his friends are. If some are girls, you got lucky! Hang around his friends and when he comes up and starts chatting, join in the conversation. Say something to catch his interest and start a conversation between you and him. Smile a lot and compliment his opinion.
