I am hearing that this Merlin's LCD Magic works? Maybe give it a shot, I am looking to try it soon.
Polishing plastic requires a series of abrasives and a polish that will not dry out the plastic. I have repaired a variety of plastic items over the years, using many different products designed for, and not specifically designed for, removing scratches. This would include low abrasive toothpaste to professional repair products for specific applications.
You need a series of abrasives from course to light, to wear down a scratch, step by step, to a smooth finish. Professional systems may use five different grades of abrasives consisting of different hardnesses and shapes (sharp to smooth).
Regardless of product used, the key is to use multiple abrasives to gradually bring the plastic back to a polished surface. You might also try using a polish on top of that, to give it a final shine!
I looked up LCD Magic at the Merlin site. It may be a wonderful product, but I would think that your best option (from them) would be the Scratch Pro system, since it is a 5 stage repair kit.
Either way - look for a system that is more than one step.
Scratches can rarely be removed fro plastic. The only way to remove scratches from plastic is to melt the abrasions.
You cannot remove scratches from the screen. It is glass. If it were a plastic screen, a plastic polish would remove them. I would suggest a screen protector to prevent any more scratches from happening. And possibly a good protective case.
One way to remove scratches from plastic display cases is by using a gentle abrasive paste or polish specifically designed for plastics. Apply the product to the scratched area and gently buff in a circular motion until the scratches are less noticeable. Another method is to use a heat gun or hairdryer to warm up the scratched area, which can help smooth out minor scratches.
Does toothpaste remove scratches from discs:Toothpaste does not remove scratches from discs, all it does is leave white smudges over the disc.
You can try using a plastic scratch remover or a mixture of baking soda and water to buff out the scratches. Gently rub the solution onto the scratches using a soft cloth in a circular motion, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Repeat as needed until the scratches are less noticeable.
It cracks easily and dont use sandpaper on it or it will scratch! (it scratches easily!) but otherwise its great! it breaks easy as it is plastic and cheap.
YesPlain White ToothpasteThis method will only work with plain white toothpaste, not gel, or toothpaste that has ingredients in it like Scope for example. Squirt the toothpaste out and carefully cover the scratched area on the plastic item. Let it sit for a 2 or 3 minutes and then using a clean cloth wipe off the toothpaste. This should get rid of the scratches on the plastic item, but, as with the Pledge method, if it does not, go through the process a second time.
To remove scratches from glass, you can use a glass polishing kit with cerium oxide. For Plexiglas, try using a plastic polish or a mild abrasive, such as toothpaste or baking soda mixed with water. Apply the product to the scratched area and polish in a circular motion until the scratch becomes less noticeable.
The duration of nail scratches on different surfaces can vary depending on the material. On softer surfaces like wood or plastic, nail scratches may last longer compared to harder surfaces like metal or glass. Generally, nail scratches can be visible for a few days to a few weeks, depending on the depth and severity of the scratch.
Glass is typically smoother than plastic due to its non-porous surface and molecular structure. Glass is also less likely to accumulate scratches or imperfections compared to plastic, leading to a smoother feel.
If they have been damaged by taking a hit, resulting in distortion or tearing ,no. Scratches can be filled with a 2 part plastic filler available at auto shops. Car body filler will not stick .
Not certain if you mean, use polish on them - or polish out scratches. Scratches can be polished out of all materials, if you use an abrasive and fine enough material to do the job. There are some specialist plastic polishing kits that use buffers and abrasives to do the job. Try googling for 'plastic polish'.
