To get barreled you will need to watch where the barrels usually break, then go and line up at where the peak of the wave breaks so that you can pull in to the barrel. Also if you don't know what the peak is; it is the middle of the wave where it first breaks. Now If you are to far on the shoulder it will be harder to get barred. When you take off it really depends how deep you are on the wave in order to get barreled.
If you are really deep you should pump hard as you see the lip starting to form/break and then as it breaks stick your hand in the water to slow down and/or stabilize yourself. If you are not deep and the barrel is far behind you, you should drop in and go to the bottom of the wave to slow down and then as the barrel catches up, pull up quickly to the middle(steepest part of the wave) and pump. When you drop in to early and are not deep enough it is harder to get barreled then if you are too deep or deeper.
If you would like to know how to tube ride or ride the barrel ask me "SurferBoi" and I will be happy to explain. I am a surfer and I hope this helps you get barreled, because getting barreled is one of the most fun things to do Surfing.
