The mobile device number (MDN) is the exact phone number that has been allocated to a mobile or broadband device. It is identifiable on most carriers through the "my number" option.
It is simply your cell phone number, including area code.
For a cell phone it stands for "Mobile Directory Number"basically means that the Mdn number is basically your cell phone number. Now,the Esn number("Electronic Serial Number") is what some wireless cell phone company's/government assistance providers/etc... needs so they can do&determine if your phone of your choice that you like to use on their service can be used with their carrier. Usually, both Mdn# & Esn# are always needed and most of the time they can be found under your cell phone battery on a white strip for Cdma type phones.i hope this helps:-)
To get a mobile MDN (Mobile Device Number), you typically need to contact your mobile service provider and request it. They can provide you with the MDN associated with your mobile account. Alternatively, you can often find your MDN in your phone's settings under "About Phone" or similar sections, depending on the device. If you're looking for an MDN for testing or development purposes, consider using a virtual mobile number service.
Mobile Directory Number The actual phone number one would dial to reach a specific mobile phone. Prior to Wireless Number Portability, MDN was the same number as the MIN for many mobile phones. But now that MDN numbers can be ported (moved) to other carriers, MDN and MIN will be different for ported numbers.
It stands for "Mobile Directory Number" or simply, the number you'd need to dial to reach a specific person's phone. the mdn munber is just your phone number.
If you are referring to your phone's APN settings, it refers to your phone number. For example, if you are attempting to fill in the blank for MMSC within your Cricket phone's APN settings it might default to MDN@mycricket.com after flashing your phone to a new ROM. This should be changed to read YOURNUMBERHERE@mycricket.com
